Normally, I have irregular periods. Sometimes, I skip 3 mos. without having it. But for the past 4 mos., I was normal. Well, at least monthly (not 28 days exactly). This is my 5th month and I was expecting to have my next period on the 22nd but I was surprised to have it today. It has only been 19 days since my last period. Why is this so?

I've been going through this since my middle 30's. My doctor told me as I get older, this will happen more and more. He told me it's Peri-menopause which is what happens long before you hit actual menopause. Hopefully you can discuss this with your doctor if you haven't done so already. This is normal for a lot of women in their 30's and older. It CAN happen in your late 20's but isn't as common that early in life.

Sometimes the cycle can vary a bit which can cause an early period. I would recommend getting in touch with your doctor as well for additional information.
