This is what I get most months, and have done since the age of 17. After my son was born, the doctor thought it would get better, but it hasn't. We can't find out what is causing it, does anyone know what it is? What is the best way of coping with this type of pain?

We have ruled out Endometreosis, POS, and a host of other things. We just can't find an explaination. My cycle, ovulation and fertility is all fine.

You mentioned that you have ruled out Endometriosis. I don't know if you were checked by laparoscopy or not but sometimes after a lap to try and find it the endo if this is a problem for a lady can show up later and show up on the surgery. Just wanted to bring this up in case it should ever become an issue for discussion at a later date.

But what I wanted to add is a condition called Pelvic Congestion Syndrome. It can cause some of the pain you are having as well, especially when other things have been ruled out.

I would also recommend getting another opinion and preferably from someone that does not share the same office of the doctor you currently see.

OMG I so know what you mean... Its horrible! I'm pregnant now so I get a break from it for now. I have had it so bad I couldn't walk. Once the pain made me throw up for 24 hours straight. Felt just like one long giant never ending contraction. I have found that Alieve helped curb the pain, that and hot baths and curling up on the bed and crying till I fell asleep. I have no idea what the cause could be, I have seen many doctors and they all tell me that I will "grow out of it"... I'm 26 years old! How much more growing can I do? Good Luck, I know how you feel.

I am sorry to hear that you experience this, it is awful. I also experience what you experience a huge amount of intense pain but my pain is accompanied with nausea, vomiting, dizziness and sweating. I experience every time I have a period and I have never missed one. My doctor doesn't know why either, I don't have endrometriosis or anything like that either. I just recently started another birth control to see if that helps because there is no way to cope with it, it effects your life in a major negative way, it is like my life stops for a week and my husband's too he just takes care of me the whole time. My pain is so intense that it scares my husband to see me like that. I am sorry that you have to go through this too. I will let you know if I find a solution. Good luck. I hope that you feel better soon.

Wow, that's some serious pain! My sister had something like this and her GYN did a procedure, which I think is called ablasia (I'm not sure how it spelled). It "Cauterized" the inside of her uterus and her periods stopped, as well as the cramping and pain. Ask your doctor if something like this would be right for you. You can only have this done if you are finished having kids. If your doctor hasn't recommended anything like this, ask to be referred to a specialist.

Wow, that is really weird. Some people get cramps really bad and some people don't get cramps at all.

I have never gotten cramps and neither has my cousin. That is really weird. I am soo thankful I don't. I would die if I did. Wow, my other family members get cramps badly. Just use extra strength ibueprofin.

Yes, this is not uncommon. If you've ruled out all medical problems, try acupuncture. It really works well for things like this.
