What do you do to keep yourself ocupied on a long car ride?

You play games with whoever is in the car with you. If not, you can listen to music and sing along. Well, are you the driver? If you are, stay attention to the road. lol. =)

there is a LOT of stuff you can do, so i'll just list some of it.....

read a book
watch movies on a laptop/portable dvd player
you can download games and movies onto your laptop
listen to music, or books on tape/cd (they have the new hp book out)
card games (group games are easier because you don't need a flat surface for a lot of them)
board games (you can get special travel games that have either magnetic pieces, or slots for the pieces to go into so that they dont fall off if the car jostles around a bit)

also be sure to bring food. you can always stop womewhere for lunch, which is a nice break from being in the car, but it is good to have some snacks along with you

Listen to Music on a music player/cd/radio
Bring a portable dvd player and watch some movies/tv series

I like to play games with other passengers, though, or have brain stimulating conversations. Talk about politics. A game I like to play is where you have 2 teams, and one team calls out the name of a celebrity. Then the teams go back and forth saying different movies he/she has been in, until the team who can't think of another loses and the opposing team gets a point. It's a great time passer.

Please, keep in mind its friday night its late and I dont care about being serious right now I just want to tell some stupid twisted jokes. Now prepare yourself and I hope you have a sense of humor:

First I get a drink of coffee for the long drive ahead no wait first I dump the body in the trunk then I get drink. Then I get into my car really fast and drive away burning rubber so nobody suspects me. After that I immediatly turn up the stereo so no one can hear the screaming sounds of help coming from the trunk. I try not to draw too much attention but just incase I get a box of donuts for the cops and throw the donuts out the window to distract them when they start chasing me. Once I lose the cops I pull over to the lake and take a quick leak in it.

I get back on the road after a 10min break and start swerving from lane to lane to keep myself and my "guest" entertained and once that starts to get old I mix it up by going really fast and hitting the brakes real hard. Now if I drive too long then I get sleepy so I start to honk to keep myself awake. But that usually never works..

You see I try not to drive too far because Mother hates it when I leave without telling her because then she has to feed all my cats and clean all my guns.

Now, I am usually awakend by other drivers that are honking at me for some odd reason. Thats strange they all seem to be driving in my lane. I didn't know that people in the south drove in the opposite lane. I dont get it the sign says no entry one way only but they dont seem to care.

Regardless I must get to my location real soon because I have take a dump! Once, I reach the cemetary I dig a hole next to the empty hole in the ground which is where I am going to hide the body. Since I forgot to bring the shovel I had to dig with my hands which took longer but after 3hours I finally finished digging my hole. Now that I was finished digging I must get the body from the trunk. Thats strange the trunk of the car is open and there no body. Great, now I have to drive all the way back and do this again tomorrow!

(Yes, thats messed up lol!)

Listen to music, books on tape, portable dvd player with rented movies from library, staring out window, talking, sleeping (take a pillow), reading, have some homework or something you need to be doing, magazines...

Most importantly, its a state of mind. If all you can think about is how long its taking, it will take forever.
If you accept that you're going to be in the car for awhile, it'll be much quicker.

Music CD's ; Books on CD ; talk-radio..or listen to a DVD that isn't facing me as I drive . My cell phone - when there's no heavy traffic . I'm never bored on the road .

I talk to my husband, son and whomever else is in the car, and I play games on my cell phone (NO, I don't drive and play at the same time...hubby drives usually)
