that's not an excuse...my sister had an imaginary friend, even told us not to sit on him or we'd hurt him. Even if you're alone or alone a lot you don't need anything imaginary....can't "you" be your own best friend? Anyway, why are you alone at 16? You should be phoning friends, getting together to study, having slumber parties, having friends over to talk about stuff, going to sports events and dances, swimming, trying out for things like plays or musicals, joining organizations, volunteering at the hospital. Why on earth are you alone?

You should go out more and make some friends, I'm not telling you it's right or wrong, it's up to you what you do, but it's not good to be alone, everybody needs someone.

Sure, just don't get too carried away with it or it won't remain so private for long...I actually have several, and I'm more than twice that age (although not by much!).

a lot of people talk to themselves, argue with themselves and such
I don't really see much difference in that and an imaginary friend

Knock yourself out. You already said it was a figment of your imagination, so it isn't as if you were delusional. I would think a journal would be more productive. Who knows, maybe you have a novel in you. [ Maybe your friend does, if you don't.]

I don't see any problem with it. I talk to myself all the time. Once school starts you will be able to meet new people.

Whatever you want....is okay by me.
Many people (adults) have an "imaginary" friend....I'll let you figure it out.
