It wasn't Klinger that went deaf, it was Fr. Mulcahy. It was in the finale "Goodbye Fairwell and Amen.

Baby It s Cold Outside ~ Season 7 Episode 9 It was SO cold that ithe ground was compressing the mines, setting them off. Klingon had guard duty, and the explosions affected his hearing.
