No - it hasn't been out long enough to be in the public domain (i.e. free) yet, unless you can find someone who has paid to download it as an e-book who you can persuade to send you the file.

Why don't you reserve it at your library?

Unless a book has fallen into the public domain, then it is illegal for it to be posted on the net as that is an act of piracy. At the minimum, copyright laws do not allow a book to fall into the public domain for at least fifty years from the time of it's initial printing. A good rule of thumb in the US is 1923 or ninety-five years from January first of the current year, which ever is older, to determine the likelihood of a book being in the public domain if you are unsure. Eragon won't be in the public domain, and thus won't legally be available online for free, until at least 2,053. If not longer.

look up online libraries and you can read full books on there. If that does not work you can buy new books cheat at ebay.com or half.com

try esnips.com or google the title of the book and the word rapidshare (eg google search for "eragon rapidshare" or "eragon.pdf rapidshare" and look for a link)
