I know you have to wait at least three days (at least that's what it said in the Monistat box), but I was just wondering if anything serious could happen if you didn't wait the full three days.

You could be making the infection worse and also spread it to your partner.
I would recommend checking with your doctor as well for additional information.

That is correct, you will spread it to your partner and that could cause him sever pain , discharge and a rash. He will then need to be treated. It's best to wait until all signs and symptoms are completely gone. Otherwise, you will just be passing it back and forth.
