I had my swimming pool removed--how long should I wait before landscaping over where the pool used to be?

I wouldn't put anything there but maybe grass for a year..... the soil is going to sette and subside and you'll need to make fixes here and there to keep the area level..... better to not have a bunch of plants there that will need moved to do the work and chance them dying and you wasting money....

If you had the leftover hole where the swimming pool used to be properly filled with subsoil up to the pre-existing demarcation, and had it tamped, and then filled over with decent topsoil, there's no reason why you couldn't start landscaping right away. Try to arrange to have the soil backfilled with as much the same type of soil that was there originally, and then amend THAT.

You've already waited too long!

Start throwing ideas at paper. Dig in some plants. Throw around a bunch of seed.
As things grow you will want to make changes anyway, so just start with anything.

my advise is while you are energetic about, completing the
project, have it done. Why don't you make it family project and participate with family to design it. once upon completion, all of you will be proud, and enjoy it.
