I'm white and the other cashier is black. Tonight when I went to lunch, the store get busy. Two bookkeepers and a manager came out and got into the register to help.

When this other cashier went to lunch, we got just as busy and NO ONE wanted to help me! I asked the manager, who is black why they helped her and not me...then he started point to who all could help. I had already asked those people and they were trying to "catch up" in the office.

Mother suggested to me that I was being discriminated against...

What do you think?

I think everyone is quick to try and find reasons to incubate anger and hate. Maybe no one felt like working. Maybe they really did need to get stuff done in the office. Maybe it is a race issue. Maybe they figured you could handle it, but the other girl couldn't. Maybe you don't realize it, but have an attitude when you work there, so they don't want to be around you. It could have been anything. I highly doubt that they would want to have angry customers in line getting mad about(and possibly never shopping there again) having to wait just because they loathe the color of your skin and don't want to help you. I think your mom is jumping to conclusions that are innapropriate without proper evidence to back it up, other than you not getting help when the other girl went to lunch.

Mothers have a tendency to look for problems where there aren't any. Don't always listen to your mother.
I don't think it was racial discrimination. There's a good chance that you may be better at your job than the other girl, so the others chipped in to help her as she may have been falling behind. You were probably doing your job very well, so nobody thought you needed the help. Take it as a compliment. Don't go looking for trouble where there probably isn't any.

I don't think you were being discriminated against. Maybe, this was really a compliment to you. Maybe the managers figured you could take care of business, and the other person needed more help. Or, maybe they REALLY were busy, and didn't even notice you could have used a hand. Don't make trouble where there isn't any.

well if thier are cameras in the store that could be enough to say whats going on if you explained it to a jury say you did take that route but this doesnt sound like a discrimnate crime just a busy store that figured you was the right person for the job and could handle it.

From the way you worded the question, it does not seem like there was any racism here. Something that should be noted, however, is your desultory use of the English language. Note the second sentence is not cogent, and the second to last sentence seems archaic.

He may very well have discriminated against you. So what? Now you know how black people feel every day. Thank him for the lesson.

because he didn't point out the fact that you were white was the reason he didn't help you, it's not racist.

if he said something about skin color of any kind, than it deffinatley is.

You would have to be able to demonstrate or prove a pattern of it more than just one incident.
