If you are a believer, do you never have any moment of doubt? If you do not believe in God, do you never feel the need to lean on Him even in times of extreme adversity and helplessness?

Well, Believers and Atheists do share the capacity for certainty regarding God. But I'm not sure that makes either group more enlightened than the Agnostics who admit they don't and probably can't know.

To the Believers I say: "The power of God is in your faith, not the in the actuality of God. Jesus did NOT say 'The power of God heals you' he said 'Your FAITH has made you whole' "

To the Atheists: "You know evolution creates higher forms from lower ones. What do you THINK happens when it gets infinite time and space?"

To the Agnostics, from the Oracle at Delphi. "Socrates is the wisest of all men, because he knows he knows nothing, while others falsely believe they know something"

It is neither imperfection nor oscillation to know the best you can do is guess.

Yes. All the time.
Most of the time I've been convinced that there is no god. But sometimes I wonder if there is, and if I will go to hell for my beliefs (I was raised christian). Sometimes I wonder that if I ever was in a difficult enough situation, I would start to lean on God. But then I think, I've been through quite a few things and instead I have a strange system of always been positive and confident in my work, not "God's plan". Then I also think about why I have this belief in the first place -- every about church seems so ridiculous: this blind faith in nothing, close mindedness about abortion and homosexuality, fear put into people, church giftshops and money collections and tax funding and then I'm right back where I started...and go down all this again.

Am I so imperfect? Insecure? Confused?

I do not doubt God is there and do lean on Him all the time. This has come with age and my own research. I found that I would jump around on my feelings about God when I attended church because I did not like most other people's opinions on what is meant in the Bible. I tried several different religions and came back to my roots. You'll find what you are looking for because you are looking.

First of all, I doubt the legitimacy of "neither believing nor disbelieving". Either you find enough validity in a concept to believe it or you do not. And not believing in a thing doesn't preclude you from ever believing in it should compelling evidence come to light to support it.
I do not believe in God. And, that being the case, I don't ever feel the need to seek comfort in something I consider to be a fiction.

I feel confident that if God has something to say to me, he'll find a way to communicate around my flaws. I know that if I want to speak with a deaf person, standing behind them and speaking in low tones is unlikely to be productive. So, I'll step into their field of view and signal for their attention. I figure if God isn't smarter than I am, we've all got bigger problems.

I think that faith is something other than belief. Belief is a way of thinking that includes assent in a thought, but faith has a measure of will in it. It's a chosen orientation of mind, will, and behavior. It's not a purely epistemological matter.
___I have had moments of plain old epistemological doubt, but they don't seem to get a whole lot of traction in me. On the other hand, I wouldn't hold my faith up as an example for anyone, either. For that I'd recommend Kierkegaard's presentation of the "knight of faith" in the section "Preliminary Expectoration" of "Fear and Trembling".
"Knight of faith" is misleading to modern ears, though. It's a pretty happy-go-lucky characterization.

Most of Us are alike just not able to decide what is truth, but we tend to go with the wave or flow. By the end even we don't realise that we are believers or not just close the chapter without finishing it.

Will never know...

It's like answering the question from somebody..."What's Antartica like?"
Since I don't anticipating ever going there...

I will never know...

Same with God...HE doesn't want to go to Antartica, either...

'Cause HE's no fool... chortle chortle

i'm a believer, i have my doubts, but it's enough for me to be swayed in my convictions. =) some people are too, logical, or philosophical, that they question every thing that is related in God. i respect them, i do believe that they have reasons to not believe or beleive in God. that's their prerogative. but i mind very much those who have to be hostile to people outside their religion, sayng things that are inappropriate and quite mean*. sometimes, i question God's reason for every thing. but i don't doubt that for a moment, every little detail He made was made in bad taste. =)
