When it comes to kids, no. If it's an invitation to a wedding, a ceremony, a ball, etc., absolutely. If you don't, you won't find your name on the list to get inside. What I used to do with the kids, who are now grown, was simply write at the bottom of the invitation - give me a call at >>>>> and let me know if your child will attend. That seems to work better than RSVP for the simple reason that a lot of people, believe it or not, have no idea what RSVP means!

Yes. I find it extremely rude when people don't. Sometimes I have a hard time getting an answer even when I ask face to face. Now I just make enough food for the people who gave me a definite "Yes" and if others show up, I politely tell them that I didn't make enough food because I took their lack of response as a way to avoid the awkward "no, I won't be there" reply.

Absolutely. If they request RSVP I makae it a point to do so ASAP.. It's just plain rude and lazy not to. People need to know how many to plan for, especially weddings.
I'm with you, I can't believe how many don't and I end up calling them.

When it is a children's party I always RSVP, either by telephone or in person. But, when its an adult party, not really!

if its a kids birthday party people should--an adults party, not so much.
In today's world people are really busy and sometimes it just slips their mind to call. It doesn't mean they aren't coming--the just forgot to RSVP.

I do out of respect for the parents. I know a lot of work goes into these things. I hope you get your responses in time.
