It does not hurt to take Tylenol, but an anti-inflammatory works best. The cramps are caused by contractions and ibuprofen or naproxen helps relax the cramping.
ibuprofen - Advil, Motrin, Nuprin
naproxen - Aleve
I think Midol or Pamprin works best.
Midol has Acetaminophen (Tylenol), a pain reliever
- Caffeine, a stimulant that also helps alleviate cramping
- Pyrilamine Maleate, a diuretic (helps with bloating)
- Pamabrom, a diuretic and a mild muscle relaxant
- Naproxen (anti-inflammatory)

Pamprin, Acetaminophen. Magnesium salicylate, another type of anti-inflammatory, and pamabrom

hope this helps!

Tylenol helps some people. Others swear by Midol or the New Pamprin. Even rubbing "Head On" in the cramp area works. Aleve works too! You just have to see what works best for you. I'd start with Midol and Head On. Damm cramps!! :)

It can help, but it is not the best. You need a drug that is also anti-inflammatory, like ibuprofen (Motrin) or naproxen (Aleve).

It's supposed to, but for me it doesn't. Midol works the best for me.
