I know you wanted a song from a girl to a guy, but "I Meant To Do That" by Paul Brandt is also a great apology song. "How Do I Live" by Trisha Yearwood or Leann Rimes might also work for you.

Or, if it fits, there's a really terrific album cut by Wynnona Judd called "Learning To Live With Love Again." By far my favorite from her whole solo career. In fact, one of my favorite songs period. Wish I could remember the name of the album off the top of my head, but I'm sure it's on iTunes.
