Are you trying to fit the head from a Water Pik hand-held shower as a standard shower head? Doesn't work, can't be made to work, but Water Pik does make a shower head to fit a standard fitting.

There has got to be - I've done so SOOOO much plumbing around the house and it seems like nothing matches what I took out - even if I order the exact replacement for what I installed 10 years ago (styles and fittings change). But somehow, I am able to pick the brains of the Lowe's, True Value, or Home Depot (depends on my mood where I go - but it rarely makes too much difference) employees and come up with a solution.

I find that it helps to get exact measurements of the parts I can't bring in and bring in the parts I can along with a digital picture of what I want to do. That way I don't have to find the words to describe what I need, since I rarely know.

This has helped me replace everything from a garbage disposal that required me to re-route all the pipes under my sink, rebuild 3 different faucets, replace the shut off valve under the bathroom sink, & other things that I can't remember (it didn't help with my toilet constantly running, but I solved that on my own one day by realizing that I could raise and lower the ballast shut off point with a little twisty thing... go figure).

And now that I've typed way more than you needed.... good luck, I have full confidence that the answer isn't going to be too terribly difficult.

With all due respect...Change the inlet pipe? I have to assume that the shower hed pipe is threaded at both ends and doesn't have one end reduced from the other,,, What them to do about the threaded Female behind the wall?

I'd take the thing back and ask if there is a nipple designed to thread on what is a NORMAL/USUAL thread size for the shower pipe, that adapts from that size to the size of the PIC. If not; my suggestion would be to exchange it for a shower head that does fit.

It's called a bushing. (3/8" x 1/2" bushing.) Buy it at a hardware store.

Teflon tape wrapped around the threads should work if it's not too much difference.
