Tyra Banks is around 5’10”, her weight has been reported at 161 lbs which gives her a BMI of 22.5 – not overweight. By the old height/weight charts, depending on her frame, she could weigh anywhere from 140-171 lbs.
She isn’t exactly skinny in these pictures, but obese or even fat definitely aren’t words I would use to describe her.

What do you think? Is Tyra Banks joining us average Americans and becoming just another in the fat throngs that populate this country, or do we have ridiculous and unreal standards for our celebrities? Personally I think she looks good.

Agreed. Did you see the Tyra Show episode where her and all the audience wore the red leotard thing with their weight displayed on the front. She looked fabulous...no air brushing or hiding of flaws..just a skin tight leotard. Its sad but we have unreal standards not only for our celebrities but for ourselves. People are never content with what they have..me included..and always want to loose that extra 5 pounds.
Sad really.

i think she's fine.
i mean she's not skinny like she was working for victoria secret, but she's not flabby or sloppy either. she's normal. which is good to see these days. she's a tall girl, and needs a little meat on her bones. people only assume that her weight is too high, because compared to most celebs/models in america, it's outrageous to weigh more then 115. so its nice seeing someone who actually eats.

i think she looks fine the way she is and i was like you go girl when she wore a bathing suit on her show and stood up for herself and i totally agreed with her when she told everybody that was talking about her to kiss her fat *** more power to her is what i say
