i'm embarassed about it a lot. do i have to stand up or what do i do? what if i make my cheeks tight together or try to so they cant put it in?

does it make me go to the bathroom the same way or diffferent and longer?

It feels uncomfortable. What it will do is flush out your colon, so you will have a very watery bowel movement

You will lie down on your side and they will squirt water in your butt. You will either have a gown on or just your bottoms removed with a paper blanket over you. If you tighten your cheeks it will only make things harder for you. While it's a little uncomfortable it is not AT ALL painful! Just try and relax the best you can. Make sure you breathe and relax your muscles. If you do this things will work so much better for you. It will make you go to the bathroom right away. It actually feels good to get it all out of you. Most of what will come out will be the water but some stool as well. You will feel like you are having diarrhea but your stomach will not really hurt. You will be just fine. The first time I had an enema was when I was delivering my first child. I was very embarrassed and uncomfortable but I forced myself to relax and it really helped me. I realized shortly after the enema that I really had worried for no reason! You are too.... Just get some rest and get your enema done. Let us know how things go for you tomorrow. :o)

Just shut up, bend over and take it like a man. Don't expect a kiss on the cheek when it's over.

They don't squirt anything. They check your anus for infections and stuff. Be lucky they put you under...

I had to have them when I was younger because I couldn't poop on my own.
