Greetings! The book I am going to recommend is actually a story of two men and is very short, but can have a profound effect on your life, especially in spiritual enlightenment. It's called "Illusions" By Richard Bach. When it was originally introduced to me in High School, my cousin called it his bible. It asks you the question, "What if your Messiah, whoever he or she may be, plopped down on Earth next to you and did the same vocation you did, whatever that vocation would be?"
This book is excellent for all young adults of all cultures.
After reading it, you will have a whole new outlook on spiritual enlightenment. Try it sometime. Take care.

Just about any kind of book will help that way but I would stick with 'true to life' stories or novels because they are written by and about people who have been there or been through life situations already. You can glean so much wisdom from those kind of books. Life isn't written, life is experienced so if you read about true experiences, that makes you think and feel and gives you a heart for others feeling and emotions. That is enough to mature you for all aspects of life.
