Standby is just a way of putting your computer into a power saving mode (turning off the monitor, hard disks, etc.)
I leave my computer on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year with minimal downtime. It's perfectly fine as long as you ensure proper power protection and good airflow to keep the computer cool. I usually just turn off the monitor when i leave.

Look Ur problem is simple U just need to install the VGA driver as it is the responsible for the standby and the hibernate modes , install it and restart Ur PC and it will work back.
About the other question about letting Ur PC on forever I have read an article about that it is better to leave Ur PC on forever than shutting it down :) ( it said that it safes the buttery and the other component ) but if I were U I'd use the hibernate instead of the standby mode ( hibernate means : saving all what is on Ur rams on Ur Hard then shutdown and by Ur click it re-opens the PC and loads every thing again in Rams so U don't lose the last operations made ) _ if U were in a middle of a song U'll continue it after opening the PC after a hibernate :)
I hope that helped

yes. yes. yes.
Computers use a lot of electricity and can cost a lot of money if left on forever. Not to mention that it will eventually slow down your computer and damage the components inside. It can leave your computer as a wreck if you simply leave it on all the time.
The standby feature isn't possible for everyone. If you can, try swapping your monitor and see if it works then, since not all monitors can use it.

As long as your fire wall and virus protection are up to date it will not be a problem, shutting down a computer all the time is actually not good for it.Standby mode is OK-- but so is just leaving it on-- as long as your not logged on to the Internet.

It's not that big of a deal because your computer has built in detection for overheating, your main concern. So if it does overheat, which it won't, it'll just shut down temporarily. Also, make sure your screensaver is activated, you'll be fine, baby.

it's not bad as long as your tower doesn't over heat. If it does, let it cool off for about an hour.
