I have a 350L tank (5ft long) I have 4 zebra fish, & 7 fantails. I realise that bettas are very territorial, and will fight other fish, but its such a large tank would it be ok? Will he make his own territory in the corner of the tank and leave the others alone?

Btw don't bother answering if ur going to rude about it.

I have danios with my male, and they are fine together, but I would stay away from the fantails though, since they get really big and have long fins, and they are not tropicals, which a betta and zebra danios are

You actually got a huge tank on your hands, that's 95us gallon tank

or you go with the fantails and white cloud minnows, since these are both coldwaterfish

Hope that helps
Good luck

Bettas usually do okay in a community tank, but a lot of times fast swimmers, like your danios, can nip at his fins and make his life miserable. I'm not sure how big a 350L tank is, but I think it's about 175 gallons maybe?. There should be plenty of room for ONE betta if you'd like to try it out. Just watch him closely for the first 24-48 hrs to make sure he's surviving with all his fins intact.

Fantails? I wouldn't chance it. Basically anything that could remotely resemble another beta....forget it. He'll tear them up.

However, you can buy a transparent tank divider and give him his own space. You can also buy plastic craft mesh (think your grandma's yarn tissue boxes) and fasten it to the tank. It's a cheap way to go or a temporary solution till you find a divider or need to put it in because the fish aren't getting along.

it's not so much the fighting as the temp. differences. if you're keeping your betta in a bowl or anything without a heater now it would be better, but the best home is one with a filter and a heater. they like their water around 80°F

oh god. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Bettas are loners. Fighters. Not goldfish, guppys, frogs. Nothing should be roomed with a male. As 4 females they may be ok. Females arent that bad.
