Remember that Einstein could develop the most complexe answers to questions; however, he had difficulty with directions to a common destination. Perceptions of an individual that we might think of being as "smart", can vary differently from one individual to another. For example, if I thought than you can recite poetry from Shakespeare verbatim, I might consider you to be an intelligent individual. However, if you can not realize that persons are different, depending on their previous experiences, that you might consider such a person as being a bore and a snob.
YOUR personal experiences would determine the answer to your question. What you would consider a "stupid" response to a question, may be legitimately a cogent statement or question for that individual. Sometimes an intelligent person may appear to be stupid ,although upon further examination this person may appear that a stupid response is not indicative of an intellectually deficient individual.

Yes its called common sense. Some engineers or really smart intelligent people could probably solve a Calculus problem where you and I wouldn't have the first clue to do. But ask them to work the toaster and its like a monkey solving a math problem. hehehehe hahaha LOL

sure ... you can be an intelligent person and be stupid at the same time. obvious example is when someone fall in love so deep, he/she is an intelligent person but make things that
logically incorrect.
such as : being cheated by gf/bf for the second time ... will u think that he/she might change ... some intelligent people may think that way until it happen again and they realize that how stupid they are believe in their partner ?

Typically one finds people that are intelligent and stupid at the same time in a church.
"I find the whole business of religion profoundly interesting. But it does mystify me that otherwise intelligent people take it seriously."
(Douglas Adams / 1952-2001 / The Salmon of Doubt)

As a mental health professional, my answer to your question is a resounding YES. I have many examples from my career, but one in particular stands out. One year our county had a "health fair" and I was invited to set up a booth for mental health. I had set it up to be able to give quick IQ tests. Not THE IQ test, but similar ones that can be done in 10 minutes. Since many of the medical profession were there at their booths, several came around to take my tests, and the results for a few would easily be considered embarassing. The test showed that one or two of the M.D.'s couldn't think for themselves even though they could do good in rote memory. I sure wouldn't want them doing surgery on me in case my case needed something that wasn't in the books. Only one M.D. scored high enough in the memory and abstract thinking parts to get a respectable score, and these were young doctors brought in to town by a major medical concern to staff their new hospital. So, to your question, heck yeah!! God Bless you.

some scientists heads are so full of mathmatics and algebra
there is little brain cell space left for anything else
ie:no room for dress sense :hence corduroy clothes with leather patches on elbows and knees brown hush puppy shoes and wirewool grey frizzy hair,joe90 specs
but will own /drive a top of the range full spec jaguar
and take around 2 hours just to get into the vehicle and then drive out of the parking bay area in reverse, they get lost in food stores ,they know every chemical compound structure of the item of food they bought but will still burn it to a frazzle or completly undercook it ,and one shoe always squeaks while the other has a untied lace, and it doesnt matter how small the lump of board chalk is they will snap it in half on the board, and their style of writing goes from BIG big letters/numbers to tiny little miniscule ones in one line on a chalkboard,All the signs of a total dumbass but with a brain thats 99%full with superior knowledge

yes, some people have book smarts and some have common sense. even less have both. and on occasion you will find the few that completely lack both. but sometimes someone who is very smart usually will have their not so smart moments, and the not so smart people will have an incredibly genius moment, it happens to everyone, but just because someone experiences an out of the ordinary moment doesn't mean that all of a sudden they have changed and became less smart than usual, or more smart than usual. and everyone has certain things they know alot about and certain things they know nothing about. and if you catch them on a particular subject they excel at then they will seem smarter, and on a subject they know nothing about then they will seem not so smart at the moment.

Yes, because he can be ignorant or unwitty in a given situation.
Intelligence is the ability to solve problems efficiently
Wits is the ability to react efficiently to environmental situations
If you are not fast-minded or you don't know enough intelligence is not a so valuable asset.

Absolutely!!! My father-in-law speaks 9 languages, plays 6 instruments, has two PhD's in Theology and Hebrew Studies, and is a minister. But he cannot grasp the concept that you should shift into Park before turning off your car. And he has no handyman skills whatsoever.

Yes, and it happens all the time.
Intelligence doesn't equal common sense.
A scientist can be book smart, know how to split a molecule, but dumb enough to drive drunk.
