i am mortified lol. It looks like a pigs nose! My friend admitted it looked larger once i had drawn her attention to it.
Did this happen to anyone else? Does it return to its normal size post-pregnancy?

Just want to hear your stories, just to vent lol

PS - i have terrible blocked nose too - have had it about a week - nothing is clearing it.

My nose spread sooooo bad when I was pregnant with my daughter that I thought it would never go back!! It looked terrible, wide, ugly and almost like I had broken it! I didn't even look like myself. Well, thank GOODNESS it went back to completely normal about 2 weeks after I gave birth! If I had been stuck with that nose I would have had an nose job!!

The blocked nose is totally normal. The pregnancy hormones rushing through your body are what's doing that to you! Again, when I was pregnant with my daughter I tried everything to unblock it and NOTHING worked either. Sorry, but you'll suffer with that until you deliver as well. I did! This time around with my second my nose has not spread yet and the blockage is not as bad!! : ) Hope this helps you!!!

As the blood vessels swell due to the excess blood, some smaller areas of your body that contain a lot of vessels may become larger. In your nose, it may make it more difficult for air to pass through, causing that hard-to-breath feeling. It's normal and will go away after the baby's born.

I had a problem with my gums. The blood vessels became swollen between my two front teeth, pushing my teeth apart and making the area more sensitive. I had a nasty bulge between my teeth that would occasionally bleed, but it went away soon after daughter was born and my teeth came back together. I would seriously cry because I felt like my body was betraying me (being naturally hormonal while pregnant didn't help). Chalk it up to the joys of pregnancy; you're only pregnant for a short time compared to the lifetime you spend as a mom.

Both the nose spreading and the congestion are symptoms that some women experience during pregnancy. You should buy "what to expect when you're expecting" I love that book! Whenever I feel like a freak, I look it up in the book and realize its a normal pregnancy thing, lol.

There are also lots of pregnancy websites out there. Google it and have fun learning :) Congrats

My partner told me (a long time ago) that women's noses get bigger during pregnancy. I'd never heard/noticed this before, but having scrutinised pregnant friends/relations noses, I can confirm it's true. I'm not actually sure if it's perhaps more common in black women, as I haven't come across it in white women. And yes, it does shrink back down, don't worry!!!

Other than that, I hope you're enjoying the pregnancy! All the best.

your question made me laugh, my partner was looking at me the other day and then said"your nose is pregnant too" it does happen, our noses can spread the same as everywhere else on our bodies, because we have extra blood, also our nasal passages are more likely to constrict and end up blocked, and make us more prone to snoring! yes it will return to normal size after pregnancy!!!, so pleased i am not the only one in this position, good luck!

I didn't realize it looked any different, until I saw someone I hadn't seen in a while. I was just starting to show and when she asked if I was pregnant, I assumed she saw my belly. Then she said, "I thought so, your nose is spreading!" I stared at my face in the mirror and realized that it was wider, and it wasn't narrow to begin with :( It's back to normal now, I think yours will probably shrink back to normal after you have the baby.
