The DSL router/modem will have a port(s) on the back labeled LAN -- you connect one of these ports to the back of the dlink router, labeled LAN. Now your wireless Dlink router will be broadcasting your wireless signal and you should have internet. please note that you will want to configure your router to be secure so only you are using your router.

Cable between the DSL modem and the Wireless router. Cat 5 Rj-45 Straight Through cable. Use the Ethernet ports.

Open IE and in the address field type:
192.168.0.1

Type admin for the username and leave the password field blank.

Go to the Wireless TAB and select a name in the SSID field. Don't use anything that will id you or your home. That name get transmitted in the clear. Use something like default456 - That way you know which is yours.

Select wpa-psk security and give it a very good Key (Password)

Save and Reboot the router.

Now when you connect with the laptop just enter the key - and that's it.
