On the Dell website, they have an area where you can buy reconditioined used Dell laptops. You can put in the criteria you want and search for something in your price range with the features you want. A friend of mine has bought several computers from their reconditioned area and been very happy with them. Both his daughters have used those for school.

Unlike buying on e-bay, these usually come with some kind of warranty. Be aware that computers you find there will sell quickly and won't be available if you look a few hours later -- but on the other hand they will have more computers that weren't listed when you looked before.

I can't give you a direct link since their page doesn't work quite that way, but go to http://www.dell.com and select your country, then select home solutions. Once you are there, select Dell Outlet along the top and then select laptops.

If you are looking for a new laptop dell.com offers customizations so you get the features you want. You can get a wireless laptop that is priced around $350-$600 from Dell Outlet where they sell refurbished and returned laptops.

If you are looking for a used Dell laptop, eBay is a good place to start. If you plan to deal locally www.craigslist.org.

I think they have started seling Dell computers at Wal-Mart, so you may want to go check out their store.

Good Luck.

Dell's website has refurbished laptops for sale, complete with a warranty. These are usually off-lease business units that are great for personal use.

I know Walmart has computers now, so you might give them a call and see if they carry lap tops too. I wish I had one, it would make life so much easier being able to stay in touch and also to just get up and go and not have to worry about all the unhooking and lugging the heavy stuff around when you move. Good luck.

You might check out the classified ads in your newspaper. I have purchased two inexpensive computers this way, one of which I'm still using. (My Dell Laptop.)

Go to dell.com, go to notebooks, then on the right hand side you can also check out the dell outlet. They can vary from $600 and up. Its worth checking it out to see if you can find something you can use. Hope this helps. Oh they also have financing if you need it.
