Firstly I think I have a natural nack at being a good actor to certain emotions. Basically anything besides crying, I can be sad, but I cant make myself cry.

I am 20, joining the Marines for 4 years, and after that I want to become an actor. I am wondering if there is any chance I can hit it big by the time I am 26, or get a nice part in a movie??

Also my face is asymmetrical, noone usually notices except me so it's not that bad, but I notice it in pictures. Should I get that surgery where they add a bit of bone to one side of my jaw?? That is what I would need to fix it, but not sure if it's that important.

The type of role I would want to play is being a badass or something, or a serious type role.

I have a natural aura and energy about me so I think I can get somewhere if I just knew the right people....

sorry for the rant haha...

No one has a perfectly symmetrical face usually one eye is slightly smaller than the other and so on. I don't recommend getting facial surgery. Actors come in all types and sizes. If you want to become an actor you need to practice your craft but the odds of making it big are pretty stacked against you -- not impossible but there are a billion people out there who want to be movie stars ( note all the people making fools of them selves on reality tv shows with no guarantee of cash for their effort) which also cuts into paid acting jobs for real actors. At this point you should fulfill you rmilitary obligations get an education -- take some acting or theatre electives on the GI Bill when you get out and get an education. You are 20 you may change your mind and you should have something else to fall back on. If you want get listed with an agent when you get out you will need to work on your skills, get a headshot and develop a resume. It rarely happens that you just get seen in the street and someone decides that you are going to be a star. You need to to get listed with a talent agency or several talent agencies, they send you on auditions, you leave a headshot with your resume and wait and see if they call you back. I sincerely doubt there are any agents on the board looking for potential movie stars. I am not trying to be negative just realistic. Get an education and if acting works out for you great -- if not you will have your education or a skill to fall back on. Sempre Fi!

Hon, only a Talent Agent, Casting Director, Director, or Producer, can determine if you have talent.
Most actors do not have sufficient talent to become working actors.
