She has been contacted several times, but she keeps on managing to get it postphoned. We know the girl as 'autumn' but she is a really blonde blue eyed baby, she doesn't look anything like an autumn. My sister wants to call her imogen autumn - but have a name somewhere in there to soften it up.

Any suggestions?

I can't believe anyone would allow that. They made me name my baby before leaving the hospital.I have to ask what is on that poor baby's birthcertificate? What do they do at the Dr's office for records? I've never heard of this. Tell her to decide on a name.If she has been called Autumn for a year that should not change now. She would be confused.

Autumn is a fine name, is everyone giving her a hard time about it? If so, stop it. It's a beautiful name and she doesn't have to look like the actual season. My name is April and I sure don't look like rain. Seriously.
Imogen Autumn is a cute name. Be supportive.

Someone mentioned this about changing the babies name after a year. It's funny... When my brother was 4 for some reason we started calling him by his middle name and it stuck. He's 21 now and that's his name. As far as I know my parents realized people weren't getting his first name right so before he went to school they started the other one.

I *really* dislike the name Imogene and can't even imagine how to pronounce it. But the name Autumn is lovely. I also like some of the previous suggestions. How about

* Autumn Eve * (call her Evie)

* Autumn Indigo * (call her Indie)

* Autumn Skye * (call her Skye)

If you seriously want to change her name, Summer will never do, because going from Autumn to Summer is so strange. Blonde hair and blue eyes will probably darken up anyway... that was my experience! I disagree with those who say it is too late to change her name. When my niece (Lauren Beth) was about 4, her aunt and uncle named their baby girl Laura Beth. Needless to say, my daughter was not happy about that. She came across the name Larken and liked it alot, so she asked her little Lauren what name she wanted. She picked Larken and so she remains.

Anyway, some new ideas for names:

* Amber Gemma * (means golden jewel)

* Ava Gabrielle * (means eagle and God is my strength)

* Annabelle Gentian * (beautiful/gracious and blue flower)

Best wishes to you!

thats kinda sad that ur sister didnt care enough to give the baby a proper/official name. i would keep autumn if thats what u all have come to know her as, it might feel weird to all of a sudden start referring to her as a totally different name. and at 1, i think that the baby needs some stability and identity. it doesnt matter that she has blonde hair and blue eyes, what would an autumn look like? red, orange, and yellow? lol...i think its a great name. imogen is weird.

I honestly dont believe anything you just wrote but keep calling her Autumn, even though shes a baby she has began to develop her own identity and calling her by a different name would just confuse her, how about Autumn Imogen?

Well... Summer would be a pretty name for someone blonde and blue... or Echo... or Eden... OR, what if her first name was Suzanne and Autumn was the middle? i always think of a susan or suzanne as blonde and blue.
YOU KNOW, the childs hair color could change and make her look more like an Autumn... what's the chance?

If this is even for real, and the baby is one already and has been called Autumn for that long, you can't change it. She is used to that name and would get confused and wouldn't understand if you changed it at this point.

WHAT!?! How can she not have a name???? That's a new one to me. I think that Autumn is a very pretty name though, I think about a beautiful girl when I hear that name, like a young starlett. Well, tell your sis that she better name that baby soon, before the poor thing is so confused!!!!!!!
