Have you noticed that everyone calls him "Mr. King" these days?

I know he's been in the business for over 50 years, but he is probably one of the least penetrating and least interesting interviewers of all time.

Last night I watched the CEO of that company that has the trapped miners on, and he called him Mr King. I think if you;re a senior citizen and own your own company you don't need to be so defferential with Larry King.

its kind of a silly, maudlin trend, don't you think? How come no one calls Lou Dobbs "Sir" or Mr Dobbs?

And no one calls Candy Crowley Madam or Ms Crowley?

Don't get me wrong though, I like Larry King and I like his show. I just think the whole defference thing has become a bit cheesey.

What do you think?

I'm all for showing people respect. I'm all for manners. But guests on oother shows don't seem to do this. Like I said, people call Lou Dobbs 'Lou'. Lou is not a young man, and he is tops in his field and has a lot of respect.

I am just pointing out how there is this trend on the Larry King showto call him "Mr King" or "Sir". People don't do that with other CNN personalities nearly as much.

I think he is a lethal embodiment of amount of years in the business and physical age. I mean the guy is in his eighties and has been in the biz for over 50 years and is still gettin' it done almost every night at 9.
I may or may not be a personal fan but you have to give it up for those stats. And I think people generally do. Hence the Mr. King.
Personally as far as I am concerned Lou Dobbs is the MAN ! No other title need apply .

It is not anything new, and is for respect which should be given anyone, anywhere. Mr. King has a program that is hard to beat by anyone, and has had for many years and hopefully for many more years..I and the majority have the most respect for the show and wish we could say the same for most other programming.

I think it depends on how the people were brought up and what part of the country they come from . These days...the hippie generation has now become senior citizens...and the 50's Happy Days have too.....and none of them want to be reminded that they're "Senior Citizens". But , before that, I think people appreciated it...as a sign of respect. (That's a word that we all need to have more respect for...R.E.S.P.E.C.T....maybe that would end all the wars)

Because most people who go on his Show don't know him well enough to call him, Larry. That's not a "trend". -That's called "manners". And they NEVER go out of style. :)

It's an if-you're-over-200-years-old rule.
