As yet, his official word is that he hasn't bitten. But his official word has often been the opposite of what he was planning to do or support(especially getting near election time).

So would you support it?
Would you fight it?
Maybe would you just leave the country and go to Canada?

I don't think it ever should have been done away with in the first place. War time or not. There are so many young people today that have no respect for anything or anybody. It would be worth it for the dissapline alone. Yes I would support it.

It should never have been done away with in the first place, not only for a military but makes a person much better after being disciplined and seeing other parts of the world and how people live.it is an education that can't be matched any other way..

I'm against it.
But some sort of limited compulsory military service would probably be a good thing within the U.S.
Maybe a 1-2 years thing from domestic defense.

Some of the no-where young people I encounter daily could use some lessons in self discipline (And how to pull up their pants and use a belt).
I say go for it.

Yes I already did.

I served when we had a draft and when we didn't. i prefer the all-volunteer force. And I also think the General who raised this suggestion will find himself on the retired list by the end of the year.

Most people don't want the draft.

Politicians fear the draft. The "lawmakers" don't want riots in the streets where the politicians and their buddies are pulled out of buildings and guillotined.
