Does this sound stupid?

Question

My daughter will be born in 4 weeks yay!!
but my boyfriend and I were going to name her Skylar Hailey but he doesnt like the name Skylar too well for a girl he thinks its more of a boy name and he wanted me to keep it skylar bc it made me happy but i want a name we BOTH agree on not just me lol.

We both like the name Alexandria. but does that sound okay with hailey as the middle name?

would alexis be okay to call her as a nickname?

I agree with your boyfriend don't name your daughter Skylar it does like a boy name and in general it's sound too Star Trecky!

The alternative name you both chose is much better in either order you put them

Alexandria Hailey or Hailey Alexandria.

I've heard of girls to use Alexis as a nickname.

I think Alexandria is very pretty. It goes with Hailey fine, but I think a one syllable name would flow better since Alexandria is so long. How about Alexandria Rae? Also, Alexis is a beautiful name. I like it better than Alexandria. Alexis Hailey is adorable!! By the way, that is really great that your boyfriend wanted you to go ahead and use Skylar even though he didn't really like it! Good for you that you want to compromise, anyway! It is both of yours!! Good luck!!!

I like Skylar as a girl's or boy's name, but I prefer it for a girl.

I agree with all the other posters though about Hailey Alexandria. Beautiful! It flows better than the reverse, and I think the two syllable-three syllable setup for first and middle names sounds more classic and dignified.

Oh i think Skylar is a girls name! Actually me and my friend were discussing boys names and that was a candidate for too girly! I personally love the name! And Alexandria is very pretty! And it sounds very good with Hailey... Both sound beautiful!

Skylar isn't one of my favorite names, but I think that it's definitely a lot more feminine than masculine.

Skylar Hailey sounds fine.

Alexandria Hailey also sounds fine.

I think that you could certainly call her Alexis as a nickname if you want. I know an Anne whom everyone calls Annabelle as a nickname. If Anne to Annabelle is an acceptable stretch of a name, than Alexandria to Alexis seems fine to me!

I don't like Skylar either for the same reason (sounds like a boy's name). I like Alexandria Hailey just fine. Keep in mind that if you do not like the nickname Alex, then come up with one right away or she will forever be called Alex.

Skylar is more of a girl name to me. Alexandria Hailey sounds fine. I just had a boy 3 weeks ago and named him Rylee and everyone seems to think he is a girl so it really doesn't matter what others think it's what you like.

I like it but have you considered 2 middle names like Alexandria Hailey Skylar or Hailey Alexandria Skylar. That would be neat. Congradulations!

I have a friend named Skylar and she was a girl! Its a really pretty name...not sure if I like it with Hailey...it seems like it doesnt flow right. I do however like Hailey Alexandria better! :)
