India has won the Cricket World Cup ONLY once. On the other hand The Aussies have won the World Cup 4 times... having a hatrick...........and also winning the recnt world cup!

India have one the world cup once which was in 1983. India was also the runners up of the 2003 edition of the world cup. Australia have won it in 1987, 1999, 2003 and 2007. The Australians have been runners up 2 times.
