Some Americans are really really nice people.
But some spout a lot of nonsense ("We saved the civillised world in WWII" was the best example I've read on here.)
They know nothing about the rest of the world, believe their own propaganda ("We are the greatest country on earth, everyone wants to live here")
And try to force their system on everyone else. Anyone who wants to run their country differently to America is "wrong" and needs to be forcibly "educated" in the ways of "democracy".
I love the way they rant and rage at us Brits for having a monarchy. They have no idea how it affects our everyday lives (it doesn't) but come out with things like "It must really restrict you having a Monarchy and not a President" (umm how do you work that one out? Restrict us how? The Queen has no real powers. Shame, as if she had she might have kicked Blairs sorry little backside out of power before he destroyed this country)
They also think they are the only peope in the world who have "freedom" because they don't understand that the rest of Western Europe has it too.
Plus they have a chimp in the White house who only got the job through his daddy.
So much for "A country where everyone works for their success". Yeah, and I guess Paris Hilton "earned" her money herself did she?
Oh and for the record I don't want to live in your country. Your freedoms are no different to what we have in the UK plus we have a few basic human rights you lack such as the right to healthcare whenever we need it irrespective of the size of our bank balance.
Sorry Americans, I have met some of you who are really nice but I'm so sick of reading poorly informed dross on here from another group of Americans who "think" they know about other countries and don't. Its about time you all woke up.

I was on Al Jazeera looking at political cartoons and it appears that they view the US as very powerful, crafty and decietful. I just came back from Afghanistan and they love the US over there. Obviously not the Taliban. In a lot of the world, especially the poor parts, there just isn't that much information. We exist as a sort of myth. My friend was in the Air Force in Japan. He said he went into the countryside and saw some of the rural areas. The townpeople swarmed him and everyone wanted a picture. They thought everyone in America was a movie star. So in short the opinion of the world is as diverse as the people in it.

I think that America's reputation around the world is pretty lousey these days. But it can all be turned around pretty quickly. We're still among the most powerful leaders of the free world.

You'd have to ask everyone on the planet to come to all the different conclusions. It's a shame people judge an entire Country by reading the news and seeing a few corrupt individuals.

The US is the least favorable country in the world. As much as some American still think this is a greatest country on earth, others think very little of the US. Most American don't travel abroad or understand how other people live. The media in the US don't show world news as much as other countries. The US isolates itself in this world. From Asia to Europe, from Africa to Australia no one seems to care what the US is doing. You can credit all of these to George Bush.

In early 2002 it was very favorable. In April of that year I was in negotiations for Siemens in Germany. My European counter-parts (England, Germany, and France) were all pleased with the American response to 9/11 and felt the US had shown great restraint in restricting its activities to Afghanistan.
When I returned in July of 2003, those same colleagues thought the US had lost its mind with the invasion of Iraq.
And now in 2007....we seem still not to have found it...

THE TRUTH IS THAT MOST COUNTRIES KNOW MORE ABOUT AMERICA THAN AMERICANS DO. OUR MEDIA LIES AND COVERS UP THE TRUTH WHILE OTHER COUNTRIES REPORT THE TRUTH. MOST COUNTRIES KNOW 9/11 WAS A INSIDE JOB TO TRICK THE AMERICAN PEOPLE INTO INVADING THE MIDDLE EAST. IT WORKED FOR TWO COUNTRIES. MY WIFES PARENTS JUST GOT BACK FROM A TRIP AROUND THE WORLD, THEY SAID IT WAS TERRIBLE. EVERYONE HATES US. THEY NEVER EVEN HEARD ABOUT 9/11 BEING A INSIDE JOB BUT PEOPLE ALL AROUND THE WORLD KEPT TELLING THEM HOW TERRIBLE OUR GOVERNMENT WAS FOR ATTACKING US AND HOW TERRIBLE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE FOR ALLOWING OUR COUNTRY TO INVAD TWO COUNTRIES BASED ON LIES. IT WAS THE WORST THREE MONTHS OF THEIR LIVES THEY SAID. THING IS MOST AMERICANS ARE STILL IN THE ILLUSION THAT SOME GUYS IN A CAVE CRACKED OUR WHOLE DEFANSE SYSTEM 4 TIMES IN ONE DAY. IT SIMPLY DIDNT HAPPEN. EDIT: I JUST WATCHED CONANS LINK OF DONALD TRUMPS. HE IS WELL TRAVELED AND SAYS THE SAME THINGS IM TELLING YOU, WATCH IT AND BE SURE TO WATCH THESE
