1. The First Crusade. Take the Holy City of Jerusalem, while killing as many non believers as possible.

2. Based on my previous studies, yes. But I wasn't there in person when it happened, so can never be 100% certain.

3. Highly romanticized. I mean to the 'Prince Charming' level.

4. None. The movie was a terrible portrayal of the Crusades.

5. Not at all. Read a book. They will give you so much more accurate and insightful information.

Why do I feel like I'm doing your homework?

One of my favorite movies, so let's see:
1. Main character seeks forgiveness for slaying his brother as an act of vengeance for his dead wife's beheading at burial. Through his father, he encounters the aftermath of the first Crusade and learns what it means to be an honorable knight. During his exploits, he falls in love, upholds his honor, and defends the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
2. Ridley Scott was painstakingly accurate in the settings, both in costume, customs and in architecture.
3. Very credible characters...especially Reynaud, Guy de Lusignan, and Saladin.
4. The portrayal of the Muslim characters provided a truthful insight to the time period.
5. Yes, and I have extensive background in the cultural/political/religious affairs of this part of the world.
Highly recommend this movie to anyone serious or just curious about how it all started in the first place.
