I went through a 6 year period where I played a lot of blackjack and poker, both online and in casinos. I would go through weeks where it seemed I could not lose. Then when I thought I had it all under control and was on my way to becoming pro, I would hit an unlucky streak and lose everything I had won.
Luckily I can't say I am in the hole for thousands, maybe a thousand in all.
The thing is, you learn stuff about luck when you play poker and blackjack a lot. Like someone can sit down at a BJ table, change the whole mood of the table and everyone starts losing. One person can irk you in poker, and the table starts taking your money. Most of it is about mood.
Luck? I don't think so. BJ is a 50/50 game, and poker is based more on the ability to read other people than luck(you don't have to put money down unless you have something worth playing).
When your happy you make smart gambling decisions. When your flustered, angry, desperate, or simply don't understand the odds of the game you are playing, you make stupid decisions which quickly turn the cards against you.

Why do you have to channel it? Why can't you just be thankful for what you got without *expecting* more...did you never stop to see if you were being tested for the seven deadly sins...one of which is GREED.

Zachary, I bet on sports and do very well. Maybe you need to do a little research before you bet and you wont lose all your money.
There are thousands of people that make a living betting on sports and winning. You need to get your facts straight before you spout off.

There is something called the Poisson Distribution you can look up.
May your good fortune continue, and if it doesn't, rejoice that it did happen.
