What is your philosophy on attention and human interaction? Is it something that you seek -- negative or positive? Or is it something that you avoid wherever possible?

I'm flattered, Taya, and no.
Interesting and stimulating conversation is just of the 5 areas of life that need attention, cultivation and growth for me. The discussion would be great, but some of the other areas are likely to suffer (based on previous life experience).

Depends. Some people do bad things in order to get attention - that isn't a good form of attention but for some reason it makes them happy. This is a negative form.
Positive is when people act in a friendly manner and do things that stand out, like helping an old lady across the street or helping others etc. Those people get recognition, an even better form of attention.
People often seek attention, it just depends on how they go about it. People who avoid it most likely have had a bad experience that makes them not want to be in the spotlight.

I do seek attention from those whose attention is of value to me, and for a variety of reasons. This attention regardless of whether I've encouraged it or not will either be pos or neg. I do what I can to make it all good; Although, I try to remain prepared for any unfortunate twists. I most often do not seek attention because I know that the opportunity will come before me in a reasonbly short period of time anyway, which for me is not being arrogant but simply truthful (entertainment field), and whether it's favorable toward me or not I've still gotta deal; most often whether I want it or not. Otherwise I try to remain low key so I guess I try to avoid it from nonsignificant persons. I do however always seek attention from that who is unseen rather than whatever else is seen...

I avoid it and seek it at the same time. I'm made of extremes so it's unavoidable.
On the one hand, I have strong social tendencies. Being part of a crowd or knowing that I belong to one - either metaphorically or literally - induces an ethereal or eery thrill for me.
On the other hand, belonging to an environment or sociological background diminishes my individuality. I need social interaction to reassure myself of my existence and completion as an individual (I'm still stuck in the primitive stage of development where social confirmation matters more.) But I tend to withdraw to fix myself.

i love attention, and unfortunately i sometimes make a big fool of myself to get it. i try to control that yearning within myself to be the center of everything. I avoid negative attention, but every once and awhile its nice (if im feeling down and need to know that someone finds me special). Overall though, i just try to focus my own attention on the people i love and hope they care about me enough to give it back in return.

Hmmm, attention seems to follow me everywhere and it's been like that throughout my life...some were negative and some were positive. I do not seek nor avoid it. Just happens.

You're right; we all love attention when it is appropriate. Some people seem a little too desperae for it. I think they are compensating for shyness or low self esteem I try to lay back a little, be a good listener, and I feel I get my share.
