...why not HAVE THOSE WHO SUPPORT THE WAR JOIN? Why aren't YOU fighting since YOU BELIEVE IN IT SO MUCH? You come on here with your ridiculous statements about Democrats or "Liberals" not supporting the war, so go ahead and join. Those who have, I salute you, and this question doesn't apply to you.

A draft for Afghanistan to capture bin laden is one thing, and I would have supported it, BUT I DO NOT SUPPORT GOING TO IRAQ TO HELP the bush administration PROFIT OFF OF THIS.

So scott, this is your argument. If you were to pay attention sometime, you would realize that the draft was the topic in Yahoo! Answers. Obviously, there is no draft right now. Now go run along...

They only pay lip service in support of this war. As long as they can support the war and troops and President from the comfort of their own home they are all for it. However they will come up with any excuse under the sun to try and excuse their cowardice. I do not nor will I ever support this war, so I will never go even if drafted. I guess they support the way just as long as their lives are not in jeopardy.

the standard republican response is to announce they have more important things to do....they learned that from Bush and Cheney. Every single person between the ages of 18 and 40 who supports the war should go visit the recruiter on Monday morning. Any other action is hypocritical. If you support the war...then go fight!

Gee, I don't think we have a draft, do we? So, by that rationale, no one outside of a military combatant can support a war? Really? Is that the argument you want to make? Think this through now, I know it's difficult. I guess we should all just ignore the action since we can't support it (by your rules). Grow up.
IN RESPONSE: Way to avoid the issue, I think I'll stick around. Uber libs like you need to be balanced out.

I served and so did two of my brothers. Randy was on his last tour before he retired and was killed in Afganistan on July 9. I tried to re-up a couple of years ago and was denied because of lung damage. your assertion that this is action is based on profit is completely unsupported by the facts. Read the authorization to use force, it cites 22 reasons for going into Iraq, none of them money related. Read the Iraqi liberation act of 1988, even more reasons, none related to money. Of course you wont bother reading those doccuments, it doesnt agree with the propaganda you have heard and ceaslessly repeat. Never let it be said that a liberal let facts get in the way of their opinion.

the ones who would truly benefit from a term of service, street thugs with no future or no hope of a future wont join..and they need to....if they survive(a 75% better chance than they have surviving turf wars in the hood) they come back better for the experience....a draft is a da*n fine idea

Because a ribbon-shaped-magnet is as much support as most chat-room republicans are willing to give.
