Kelly. They're both amazing singers, but Kelly has a more unique voice. Kelly screams a bit now, but she had a really amazing voice when she started out.

Answering this right now, I'd say Kelly Clarkson. But I'd like to hear another CD from Carrie Underwood. I've been listening to Some Hearts for the past week and haven't gotten tired of it yet. Once Carrie puts out another good CD, it'll show she has some staying power and that'll make the competition between her and Kelly even closer. But I love them both.

Kelly clarkson, she was the first and is still singing
been famous for over 5 years now
Her voice is extremely powerful and she has heaps of charisma, she also writes some of her music which is rare for manufactured pop stars..
Carrie is good, very good but not quite as mesmerising as Kelly clarkson was

Many havent heard of any of Carrie underwoods songs
I have but thats only cuz i watched idol and have the internet, Kelly's songs are more accessible and easier to buy in New zealand

i love them both but Kelly Clarkson is an extremely good singer so I'm betting she'd win! Kelly can sing a Mariah Carey song very well!

I really love them both - one is rock and roll the other one is country...the world definitely has enough room for both of these mega stars.... But I think I like Carrie Underwood the best.
