It's the base of your uterus at the top of your vagina. The vagina is usually about 3 - 5 inches long (the vagina stretches to accommodate a mans penis). The cervix is up higher, is softer and is open when your ovulating. Other times it's low and closed and will feel like the tip of a nose.

The cervix is the bottom of the uterus, located at the top of the vagina [ which is why you can't 'lose' a tampon - the cervical opening is tiny! ]
It is about 3 - 5 inches in. The vagina elongates and cervix elevates during intercourse, accomadating the penis.
The cervix is the consistency of the cartilage at the end of your nose, but has a little 'dimple' in it [ opening to the uterus, called the 'os' ].

The cervix is the opening to the uterus. It varies in diameter from 1 to 3 millimeters, depending upon the time in the menstural cycle the measurement is taken. The cervix is sometimes plugged with cervical mucous to protect the cervix from infection. During ovulation this mcous becomes a thin fluid to permit the passage of sperm. The cervix is what dialates (or widens) during labor, so that the baby can pass through the vagina.

The cervix is the lowest part of the uterus. It connects the rest of the uterus to the vagina. It is usually about a deep finger length from the vaginal opening. If you insert your longest finger into your vagina, you will feel the external portion of the cervix.

Its 4-6 inches behind the vaginal opening. If you can put your finger back that far, it is the end of the vaginal canal and feels like a little nub.

It is at the top of the vaginal opening, and can be felt with a finger. So it isn't in very far.
