Why there is strange feeling when walking through a turned off escalator?

Probably because you expect it to push you upwards, so when you don't feel that sensation, your mind tells you something is wrong.

there is nothing! you can't feel any diffrence because nothing is moving,it's all in your head if you've been on an all niter
