You can't make a man who doesn't want to commit commit to anything. You can calmly discuss the fact that if he is not ready to commit to marriage, then you will have to move on because you really want a man who wants the things you want. He may decide at that point that he is ready to commit. Right now, he's just playing the game for as long as he can. Tell him the jig is up. It's commitment time or good-bye time.

In my case, I think we were just right for each other. My husband had been burned before with child custody and support and a general mess when it came to his kids. He did not want more kids, and I was OK with not having kids. Also, I was willing to sign a pre-nup that stated that if we did have kids, I wasn't going to try to take them away from him and I would not file for child support.

I guess to translate that into any relationship, I would say that you should figure out what it is he's afraid of and see what you can do to ease his mind.

But, hey, if he doesn't want to get married, you may want to consider whether or not it would be a good marriage if you did get married.

I was a real woman instead of just another notch. I was always told that a man would never buy the cow if you gave him the milk for free. Instead of making him attracted only to my physical appearance I also did the things a woman should. I took care of him, cooked his meals cleaned his house rubbed his feet and submitted to what he asked of me so long as it was approprite. I showed self respect as well. I was not going to be just another girl because I know I am a woman.

I guess i didn't ever have that problem.. I was the one that was iffy at first... So I guess I can say if you have to make them want to commit then you should move on. They should think and know your the one they want for the rest of your life, if they don't then they might stray.. I say move on and find someone that wants you as much as you want them.

The best thing to say to guys to get them off the fence is "Good-bye" ... but guys know that women don't want to do that and if they do say it, they don't really mean it ... so women never ever say it ... but it does indeed work ... but then you are stuck with a guy who didn't want to marry you in the first place, is that what you really want?

You can try living together, sometimes you get closer and see the real person that he/she is, then if you fall in love
get married. Love takes time to grow.

you make it sound like he's your only option? Move along...everytime I bailed some lame *** boyfriend dropped those words, WHATEVER?! my current husband got cold feet, I simply told him I was leaving, packed my bags, shut my business and we were married in 24 hours...Seriously don't ever live with them before marriage-big mistake-only lived with my husband, after we were married...

Why would anybody want to try to "get" somebody to commit who didn't want to?
Unlogical, and definitely a recipe for disaster.

Accidentally on purpose get pregnant. Just kidding. You can't make a person be something they're not, or do something they don't want to.
