My 26th birthday is next week and I want to celebrate it... I'll probably have about 20 people at my place (I live in a apartment, so there is not much space).
I wanted to have a theme party but I didn't had time to think any, and now I am running out of time....
What can I do??
I was thinking a Karaoke night, but I want it to be special and to have something creative and fun, not just people singing.
Any ideas, or any other easy, creative and fun theme party I can prepare in just few days??
Thanks a lot!

Here are some ideas for your party...

1. Do a scavenger hunt. Divide into teams of 4 or 5 people. Enough to fit in one car. Give each team a digital or polaroid camera and a list of items to find. After one or two hours teams will return to your house and turn in their items. Have a BBQ and people can share pictures and stories of the scavenger hunt and determine the winner. Each picture is worth a different amount of points. You can collect tangible things as well as pictures of the team doing things. Some ideas are:

1. A picture kissing a handsome stranger (the group can vote how many points depending on how handsome)
2. A picture of how many people they can get in a phone booth (one point per person, two if the get people to join in not on their team)
3. A picture with the team posed in crowns from Burger King.
4. A picture with the team standing in front of a Hooters restaurant lifting their shirts over their faces and showing their hooters. (One point for each male and five points for each female)
5. A picture of a team member lying on a barroom pool table.
6. A picture standing or swimming in a park lake.
7. A picture of a team member wearing a trenchcoat in an adult video store.
8. A picture of the team on a slide in a playground.
9. A picture of the men on the team in a women's rest room
10. A picture of the team playing football (bonus if they are wearing helmets)
11. A picture of the team in one dressing room at a department store.

You can also have tangible "Things" on the list that are worth a certain number of points.
-- 1 point items:
paper clips, old movie tickets, a garden tool from the neighbor, napkins or matchbooks from a bar, etc
-- 3 point items:
A pint glass from a bar, salt and pepper shakers from a restaurant, a playboy magazine from two months ago, etc
-- 5 point items Include things like an autograph of a former school quarterback or cheerleader (someone from your party)a nametag from a convienence store clerk (bonus points for the longest name), the sexiest pair of boxer shorts or underwear from a neighbor or someone is wearing at the party.

2. Have a BBQ/pool party. If your apartment has a pool, get some Tiki torches from home depot, some leis and inflatable palm trees from Party City, and have everyone wear the bathing suits. You can also put balloons floating in the pool for a cool effect. Games that you can play include a Belly Flop contest, Limbo, diving for cans of beers, and if as the night wears on, skinny dipping.

3. Play Kick Ball or Wiffle Ball at the park. I hosted a wiffle ball party a few years ago. Everyone had fun! It is fun to see adults playing kids games. Play at the park for an hour and then go back to your apartment and BBQ. Your menu can include hot dogs and peanuts just like the ball park. You can make a party goodie bag for everyone with a pack of baseball cards, and small toys.

4. Play strip poker. The rules are that once you lose and you are in your underwear (bra and undrewear for girls), then you have to stay that way until the game is over. Tell everyone in advance so they can come dressed however they would feel confortable. Some people might wear boxers, sports bras, sexy lingerie, or long underwear, whatever they are comfortable wearing. Take a group photo before the game starts with everyone dressed. Once the game ends, take another photo with everyone in their underwear. For those who are shy, they can wear a paper bag over their head. When I did this it was twelve people. The part was alot of fun and the photo was the best part. Some people just stayed in their underwear for the rest of the party.

5. Instead of a Cinco de mayo party, make it a fill in the blank day party. You can make up the tradition that you drink your favorite drink and celebrate whatever you want.

6. Ugly bridesmaid dress party. The girls have to wear the ugliest bridesmaid dress that they have had to wear to a wedding. The boys wear the ugliest tie they can find and bring the worst groomsmen preset they have ever received.

Have fun and happy birthday.

Digital photo scavenger hunt! Split your guests into three teams, then give them a list of things about town to take a picture of. The key is to make them get in the picture, ie. take a photo of the whole team on a shopping cart for 10 points. Handcuffed by a police officer is 20 points, etc. When everyone gets back, serve cake! Transfer the photos to the computer for a slide show guaranteed to get a ton of laughs. Have a cool prize for the winning team. Best of all, you'll have the funniest pictures afterwards! Have a wonderful birthday!!!

You could host a pool party, along the same lines as you would if you had a real pool. You could serve tropical drinks, have your guests wear their bikinis or board shorts. Put on some Beach Boys music and do the twist. Also see if you can get hold of the game "Twister". That is good fun to play on the lounge room carpet.

Try an 80's theme party. Play only music from the 80's and have everyone dress like that. You know the blazers with the sleeves pushed up, izods, collar flipped up, mini-skirts and heels with socks...BIG HAIR! That should be very inexpensive and fun. You can also have the karaoke with only 80's music.

Wow, we better HURRY !!!!! How about a costume party, along with the karaoke, and that way they are really doing alot of of the decorating...themselves. This way it will be COLORFUL, DIFFERENT, & FUN !!!!
And make it a carry in, so you don't have to worry about FOOD !, which is a big issue, on a short notice. If everyone brings something, you got it made !
Also, have them bring the drink of their choice.
You supply the cake, paper plates, cups, ice, silverware.
And ENJOY YOUR BIRTHDAY !!!!

A week isn't much time for your guests to come up w/costumes, but it's doable. I recently had a rockstar/pornstar party, (all girls love to dress up "sexy" for halloween so why not your for your b-day?) That went over well and it doesn't take much to wear your underwear or some ripped up jeans, even the boys got into it (one guy came as a pizza delivery guy...) Just be creative, I once went to a "white trash" party where they served PBR and corn dogs but it was a blast!

Give out those princess gummy bears... and make everything glitterry and light-colored, not too dark...get those plastic sequin tiaras and you can "pretend" you are having a ball... unless you wanna invite guys... Get your nails painted matching your dresses.. Dont go to bright... go with pastels and lights... The darkest color you should use is a magenta or orange or light blue...you could also have a tea party with iced tea and cookies with your name on them. It sounds so cute... Give out lipgloss and a plant or something! Also, give money... cuz no gift bag is fab without money in it... get a bunch uv stuff from those dollar stores... they have some really cute things in there. Go with a girlirific motto... it is sooo kool a 14-year-old likes these things, go girl! People who dont respect that are losers cuz they go with the flow... they dont be unique... unique is KOOL!
