I'm not trying to invoke a heated debate or be disrespectful or introduce conspiracy theory. But right from the onset the media was saying how well orchestrated the attack was. For me - having played MS flight simulator - yes I know its a game and all - but it didn't seem like rocket science to pull off what they did.

It was sophisticated compared to most terrorist attacks. Most terrorism is strapping a bomb on some suicidal people and sending them into a crowd or getting a gun and shooting up a crowded location. They got 20 people willing to die into the country, got them flight training and got them to act in a coordinated way far from their handlers. They had to get the airline scheduled so everyone took off before the first crash and on flights that would not be delayed. They also had a structural engineer to figure out how to bring the towers down. Many people still can't understand how a plane could collapse the towers which is why there are so many conspiracy theorist. The actual flying the plane into the target was not the hard part.

The media blows everything out of proportion.
That bad stuff has been happening all over the world ever since the world has been in existence.
Anyone that knows how to fly a plane can do what they did, though it seems like they had to be really stupid to be able to kill themselves.
Those terrorists do their job just like everyone else does their job and they get a lot of glory for it, though they shouldn't.
I think the media should do the news and not keep going on and on and on day after day about the same thing until something else comes along.

It wasn't sophisticated and that was one of the reasons it was successful- taking advantage of weaknesses in our transportation systems. It was definitely well orchestrated to have as many terrorists on as many planes at the same time doing the same thing. Again though it was our own weaknesses that made this possible.

To newyorkgal71: not an answer, but the truth. It was not reported in the media. You could smell it long afterwards depending on the weather- horrible.

I agree with you on this issue. They all had the violence in their blood to pull this off . Most people never even thought about any of these things ever happening in our country. We aren't war smart thought they would keep it in their homeland.
I think anyone could have done what they did if they really wanted to destroy and die doing it.

The CIA and FBI were having their annual company picnic that day...

It was a lucky shot...and the flight instructor who taught them, who later confessed he wondered why they didn't seem interested in learning how to "land" the plane...

Boy, was HE asleep at the brain wheel on THAT one...!

(Whew!)

The hard part is getting people to do what the plan entails. First, one has to brainwash them, have them remember the orders, then get them to follow orders exactly. It's amazing they pulled that off. Had to be well trained professionals.

I agree with you. You hi-jack a plane and run it into a building...Yeah, that's hi-tech! That's like stealing an atm by running your car into the store for access. No mission impossible moves, just do it.

Yea, it wasn't like you said. Considering there are people who have landed planes in emergency situations with 0 prior training whatsoever.
