I am starting law school next week and I'm not sure what supplies I need. I am not the most organized person, so I need all the help I can get. Do I need three-ring binders, note books, note cards? What? Please be as specific as possible if you can because like I said I need help with organization. Thanks!

Check out some of those surviving law school books - might also get a really good digital voice recorder because you will never be able to jot down notes as fast as the discourse proceeds in class ..then you can dictate you notes back & not miss anything ,.

Zero in on some good study aids - Lexis Understanding series are great; West concises hornbooks are great. Try to get a treatise by the same author or authors who wrote your casebook - this is critical - the treatise will be the ying to your yang casebook - IE it will work through all the problems presented in your casebook.

Zero in on some "how to take a law exam" study aids. 1) www.lawprepare.com - exam series are good for 1st year; 2) there is also LEEWES - another exam writing system; 3) the Adachi Bar Breaker - essay system is also excellent; " Scoring High on Bar Exam Essays: In-depth Strategies and Essay-Writing That Bar Review Courses Don't Offer
" by Gallagher is excellent as well. You law grades depend on your ability to do well on law exams - this is not taught in school - you need to figure this out & this studff will get you on your way - you will spend 90% of your time preparing for "class" - but you are not graded on "class". Good luck

Once I had a laptop, I don't remember using any special supplies. I do remember that some people bought stands so that they could hold their books up during class without having to hold onto them, and some people bought a wheeled suitcase-type thing to carry their books to school in.
