i think that really depends on where you live. I'd say, in general, they start at about 10 or 11 dollars an hour.

It really depends on how big the bank is, what part of the country you're in and how much experience you have.

I know that in the Midwest, with no experience, you'll probably start around $7 or $8 /hr, but that can go as high as $12/hr. with experience.

I loved being a bank teller, but you have to be very accurate and detail oriented. There's not a lot of room for mistakes. Some banks will fire you if you lose more than $100/yr, which is not all that hard to do when you think about how many people you give cash to in a day. If you're thinking about it, chances are you'll like it. Give it a shot.

It depends on what bank you work at.

They can make anywhere from 8-12 dollars per hour.

I have worked in the same bank for 17 years, it has changed hands a few times. (3) to be exact. With each change there are new rules and new policies.

The last bank that we "merged " with is very different, they changed the hours.

We are open on Sundays
we are open earlier and we close later.

We have to make sales goals, we have to refer accounts to customers. For instance, if a customer does not have a checking account, we have to try to get them to open an account, and all the stuff that goes with it, ex Internet Banking, bill pay, debit cards, e-statements etc.

Sometimes they can fire you if you do not make the sales goals.

It is nice, but I am beginning to think I have been in it too long, it was nice when I first started, now I don't know.

$9.76 to $11.01 per hour, but the amount of money a bank teller makes depends on the bank and the region they work in. Each region has a different pay scale in order to remain competitive in that area.

Most likely at least $7.00/hour. Probably depends on your personality as to whether you'd like that particular job or not. Why don't you call the bank where you'd like to apply and arrange to talk to the branch manager? They would likely be glad to speak to you and might let you know where there is or will be an opening.

I would think that the starting salary for a bank teller would be between $8.50-$11.00 an hour. But then again, it depends on the area.
