Alligators are a duller color than crocodiles. Crocodiles also have teeth that are longer and stick out when their mouths close. Crocodiles are larger and usually don't live wild in America.

Alligators have short, rounded snouts, and when their jaws are closed, the teeth are hidden within the mouth. Crocodiles have longer snouts, and when their jaws are closed, the teeth are on the outside of the mouth.
