Typically "internal bleeding" refers to something that is ruptured inside you abdomenal cavity, such as a lacterated spleen, liver, kidney, or some other organ. It can also be caused by a torn blood vessel secondary to a trauma, or spontaneous rupture, or any number of other causes. Internal bleeding could also be bleeding in the cranial cavity (skull/brain), in a muscle, or under the skin, such as you get with bruising. By definition, "internal bleeding" means exactly what most answers have given: bleeding somewhere inside the body, but in hospital circles, it typically refers to bleeding in the abdomen.

Define Internal Bleeding

Internal bleeding basically means that you're bleeding on the inside of your body. This can be caused by a few things, such as high blood pressure (which may cause a blood vessel to rupture) or perhaps an injury that you sustained.

In minor cases, a bruise simply occurs, which is when blood expands under the skin and caused discoloration.

It means that internally, you are bleeding. A bruise can be that but that usually is not serious. Usually when people talk about internal bleeding it is something serious. Sometimes it is something that can be taken care of and only a doctor can tell you.

After someone's been in a car wreck or something, an organ can rupture & the body will bleed into the abdomen. That's internal bleeding.

It means that you have damage to internal organs or tissue, and it is bleeding either into your chest or abdominal cavities. Not always noticeable from the outside, but can be fatal if not treated. Usually caused by blunt force trauma.
