for a car scale model can i use spray can for paint or is it bad for it?

Yes you can. Just make sure that it is automotive acrylic. Some Automotive lacquer paints will melt your model. Practice on scrap such as the sprue before you actually paint the model. Prep the model by washing it with warm water and dishwashing soap. After leaving it to airdry, you could then paint it in thin coats. Thick coats might cover small important details.

Spray paint is perfectly acceptable for styrene plastic models ! I typically use either Testors or Tamayi paints.

The KEY to getting a good paint job is to:

a) Wash the model with gentle dish-soap and warm water to rid it of finger oils and silicon mold-release agent, and then set aside to dry.

b) PRACTICE with the spray paint on a scrap of plastic or an old model... to get a even and LIGHT coat of paint.

c) In temps below 70's, warm the spray can in a tub of warm water.... it brings the pressure up abit.
