I thought they already were. I would not be surprised to see corporate welfare go to the big three. Now if they can start producing the low mileage cars people want at the moment and make them affordable maybe they can become profitable again.

They already have welfare. US auto makers have been allowed to bypass fuel saving design for years. They contribute to our country having the worst vehicles in the world and creating the most pollution. Another industry that will need to be saved are these mining companies. How can they continue to mine when they have 400 violations on their last inspection? A restaurant can be shut down for just one violation. 400 violations!! It's unreal.

The President has the power to declare government control over vital industries to protect national interests particularly its economy. Thus, the auto industry will likely be the next sector subject to government control.

Don't forget the 65$Billion tax break he gave the oil industry for infrastructure upgrades that has gone for golf, trips, booze & bimbos.

I wouldn't be surprised Chi. There's certainly precedent for it. Didn't Jimmy Carter bail out Chrysler back in the '70's?

I guess your to young to remember Lee Iaccoca and the Chrysler bail out.

Next will be his own party. He has destroyed any chance of them being elected democratically. Luckily for him they don't let a thing like that stop them.
