my hamster had to be put to sleep becuase the docter said she was very skinny and was consinly iching and it might have a preisit anyway i took really good care of her but i think i know why she was so sick i changed her food bowl like once every 6 days and her water too i feel realy bad and guilty do you think that was the reason?

I'm sure nothing is your fault. It most likely was a disease and it just overtook the poor thing's immune system. It's like humans. Sometimes we get sick and it was no one's fault in perticular. As for the food, as long as she still had food and water after you went to change it again, it's fine. You did the right thing by having it go to the vet. I'm sorry it was put to sleep, but things like this just happen all the time. I had a hamster that died of old age, but I quickly recovered from it's death.

i am really sorry that you had to put your hamster to sleep. But you should change the food and water every morning. I use to work at a pet store and thats how we kept our animals healthy. and yes, we had hamsters. If there is a lot of food still in the bowl, just shake off the top and get out all of the empty shells. and then just put a little bit of new food in. you should give them new water every day though, that is important. The reason your hampster was so skinny was because you only fed her every six days. that wasnt enough.

I dont mean to be mean but you need to feed your pet EVERY day and her water i mean its like imagine if someone didnt feed you for six days! you woud be skinny to and hampsters need water. i dont think you are the pet type i would suggest maybe getting a virtual pet and take care of it for a while then if you take good care of it consider getting another pet and please take care of that one i no how you feel even if it was your falt you didnt intentionally want to hurt it try getting a pet that doesnt need that much attention like a hermit crab or a turtle i have one they are great pets they can go like a week without being feed but should Not do that intentionally i wouldnt suggest getting another pet but if you RLLY want to and think you will be more responsible get one of the pets i suggested make a feeding schedual and a cleaning scheadual im guessing you didnt clean the cage either.

I don't think it was your fault you just got stuck with an unhealthy hamster. Don't feel guilty. You did no wrong.
