Recently I was in a friends pool and we were swimming when all of a sudden my foot (ankle area) wouldn't twist or move. It wasn't broken or anything but it did hurt, it only lasted about 2 minutes, then my ankle went back to normal, does anyone know why this happened and what its called? (And by the way that was the first time it ever happened to me.)

It was probably caused by muscle spasms. Spams can be caused by many reasons. It may be from over use from swimming. (those muscles need time to warm up.) Tempature or the amount of potassium or calcium your body has can also be factors. If you continue having pain, swelling or the joint locking up then see your doctor.

It sounds like you had a cramp in your foot. I used to get them all the time.

Try getting more potassium.

Good luck!
