First off you need to make sure that the Compaq t2080 laptop can have additional RAM added. The easiest way is to check on Compaq's website and in search put in the model number and it should come up with all the specs (and additional RAM and what kind that can be added, if any).
Once you get that information you can order directly from Compaq or try a company like Kingston that usually guarantees their RAM to be compatible with most PC's. Though looking a the specs from the link it looks like the RAM is non expandable, meaning 1 Gig may be the max you can have on this laptop.
If that is indeed the case and you have decided to definitely make this purchase (or already have) the next thing you may consider is getting an external hard drive to hold your data.

Check a retailer or a online auction like eBay.

P.S. I talk about eBay alot, I'm NOT trying to advertise!

Why, oh why pay a 3rd party vendor to sell you a computer when you can buy direct and cut out any middleman.
