Piccolo. Cool, versatile, humble, green. Vegeta's really cool too. I hated Goku, he's so gay.

Honestly I love all three.
I love the fact that Goku through all the crap he experiences, still strives to be honorable and cheerful and to constantly better himself.
I love the fact that Piccolo is always willing to throw in, and once again, always trying to improve himself.
However I think Vegeta is the top character. Consider he is, as he often said, THE PRINCE OF ALL SAYAINS. He went from being an abused child prince, to being an egotistical prince, to having to learn to humble himself, and then because of this getting to have a son (well 2 if you count future Trunks) and a daughter. Also where as Goku became nicer, by getting bumped on the head as a child, and Piccolo who among other things, absorbed/fuzed with 2 others Nameks that were VERY kind natured, Vegeta became the man he is by the end of Z of his own volition.
